Beyond the need for preventative vaccines, there is a global need for therapeutic cancer vaccines that are able to overcome cancer-related suppression of cell-mediated immune responses and guide specific immune responses against cells expressing tumor-associated neoantigens. Dr. Serda’s research projects include a unique cell processing method to transform cancer cells into stable, pathogen mimics, creating potent personalized cancer vaccines and optimization of Immunogenic nanoparticles loaded with cancer antigens and adjuvant and immunogenic cell death inducing chemotherapeutics and adjuvants.
