Albuquerque, NM – November 10, 2014 UNM College of Pharmacy Assistant Professor Pavan Muttil has developed a dry powder form of the TB vaccine BCG that can be used with an inhaler for direct delivery into the lung, not only improving the effectiveness of the drug but also its stability at room temperature, solving the problem of typical cold storage requirements for liquid vaccines.
