Distinguished Professor Inducted into NAI

nai reception - plamen atanassovOn April 5, 2018, Distinguished Professor Plamen Atanassov was inducted into the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) as a 2017 NAI Fellow. The induction ceremony and banquet were held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC and were part of the NAI’s seventh annual conference. They keynote speaker for the event was U. S. Commissioner for Patents Andrew H. Hirshfeld.  Dr. Atanassov and Dr. Cheryl Willman, Distinguished Professor and CEO of the Comprehensive Cancer Center were elected 2017 NAI Fellows

Election and induction into the NAI Fellow Program is considered a high professional distinction among academic inventors who have demonstrated a highly prolific spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development, and the welfare of society.
