Bernalillo County To Consider Approving Funds for Innovate ABQ

Albuquerque, NM – January 7, 2014 The Bernalillo County Commission will consider committing $1 million in funding for UNM’s Innovate ABQ project tonight at its January 7th county commission meeting. The proposal is being sponsored by Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins and calls for the funds to be used to help develop the project in downtown Albuquerque. If approved, funds would be available in July when the County’s new budget cycle begins. The UNM Regents recently gave its approval for UNM to purchase the site with funds committed from the City of Albuquerque, the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union, the U.S. Economic Development Administration and the UNM Foundation.
