2015 STC.UNM Innovation Awards Dinner Will Honor University of New Mexico Inventors and Innovation Fellows

Albuquerque, NM – April 15, 2015 STC.UNM will host its twelfth annual Innovation Awards Dinner on Monday, April 20, 2015, from 5:30-7:30 pm at the UNM Student Union Building (SUB) in Ballrooms B & C, to honor 55 faculty, staff and students who have received issued patents and registered copyrights/trademarks within the past year. The 2015 STC.UNM Innovation Fellow Award will also be presented to Dr. C. Jeffrey Brinker, Distinguished and Regents’ Professor the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering at School of Engineering, and Dr. Cheryl L. Willman, Professor in the Department of Pathology at the School of Medicine and Director & CEO of the UNM Cancer Center. Both will be recognized for their achievements as University of New Mexico leading innovators. The dinner will also celebrate STC’s 20th year anniversary.

The keynote speaker for the event will be Dr. Gregg L. Mayer, President of Gregg L. Mayer & Co., Inc., a management consulting firm, and a long-time STC board member. Dr. Mayer has extensive entrepreneurial experience as the former President of Vivigen, Inc., a clinical genetic testing company later acquired by Genzyme Corporation. His consulting firm helps companies in the two largest healthcare markets in the world, the U.S. and Japan, create successful strategies for their products and services. He is a lecturer and writer about healthcare in both the U.S. and Japan.
